I write my own words. AI helps me edit, research, and build — but never authors content on my behalf.
This distinction matters because readers deserve to know whose thinking they’re engaging with. When you read something on this site, you’re reading my ideas, shaped by my experience, in my voice.
Writing
I write. AI reviews.
AI assists with:
- Grammar and style suggestions (which I accept, modify, or reject)
- Research and fact-finding
- Generating alternative phrasings when I’m stuck
AI does not:
- Originate articles or ideas for me
- Generate content I publish as my own
- Replace my thinking with its output
Every published word passes through my judgment. The ideas are mine. The voice is mine. AI is a tool in my editorial process, not a ghostwriter.
Building
I architect. AI implements.
I practice synthesis coding — a methodology where humans make strategic decisions and AI accelerates implementation. This site, my tools, and my projects are built this way:
- I decide what to build and how it should work
- AI helps write code, debug issues, and handle repetitive tasks
- I review everything before it ships
The result is software I understand and control, built faster than I could alone.
Tools I’ve Created
I build AI tools designed for human control:
ownwords — An open source toolkit for authors who want to own their content. Bi-directional WordPress sync, local Markdown editing, batch operations. Explicitly not for AI content generation.
Ragbot — An open source AI assistant combining LLMs with Retrieval Augmented Generation for context-aware responses.
RaGenie — An open source AI augmentation platform supporting multiple LLM providers with advanced RAG capabilities.
Why This Matters
AI is transforming how we work. I embrace that transformation while maintaining a clear principle: AI amplifies human capability; it doesn’t replace human authorship.
When I use AI well, I produce better work faster. When I let AI do my thinking for me, I produce nothing of value.
